The British Beekeepers Association (BBKA), registered charity 212025, was founded in 1874 and today it represents, at national level, the interests of 20,000 amateur beekeeper members and the 3 billion honey bees they care for when pollination activity is at its peak
The National Bee Unit has been involved in the control of bee pests and diseases and training for beekeepers for over 60 years
The Association is a thriving community of over 400 beekeepers, with branches in Ipswich, Leiston, Stowmarket, Waveney, West Suffolk and the University of East Anglia in Norwich. Its purpose is to promote good beekeeping.
